Tai Chi At The Lake

During the Spring and Summer months, we offer an outdoor Tai Chi class at Stansbury Lake. This beautiful setting enhances the calming effects of Tai Chi as well as allowing us to be more connected with the Earth. As with all of our Tai Chi classes, our mindful breaths, flowing movements and meditative positive words all build on the mental and physical benefits of Tai Chi. This class is offered Thursday evenings at 6 p.m. near the gazebo on the lake. Please register in advance to reserve your spot.

Bringing Resilience
to Our Youth

Resilience is taught through the Learning to BREATHE program. It is a research-based program that has helped thousands of adolescents across the country reduce stress, improve attention, manage emotions and practice healthy habits of mind and body. This mindfulness program is structured around six themes that form the acronym BREATHE, and each theme has a core message. (The BREATHE core lessons are Body, Reflection, Emotions, Attention, Tenderness, Healthy Mind Habits & Empowerment.) This 6-session course will bring new awareness and skills to our youth as they develop critical skills at a pivotal time in their life that will serve them through teens and adulthood.

Reduce Stress and GROW Resilience

Resilience is our ability to successfully adapt in the face of daily or acute stress, trauma or adversity and have the psychological flexibility to bounce back.  Resilience skills can be learned and that’s what helps some people bounce back during stressful times. The goal of this workshop is to share with you the skills of resilience so that you improve BOTH your resilience AND your well-being. This is an in person workshop taught in Tooele, Utah.  However, it can be brought to work, civic, or community groups in the Salt Lake Valley area.

Tai Chi Forms

We offer a variety of Tai Chi classes that include Beginning Tai Chi, Tai Chi for Life, Energy 1 and 2, Sun 73, Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention and more.  There are over 500 medical studies that have shown the many proven benefits of Tai Chi.  As our students learn and practice Tai Chi regularly, they experience a wide range of these benefits.  However, the benefit we specifically focus on enhancing in our classes is helping with general and trauma-induced anxiety.  The slow, mindful breaths and flowing, focused movements, have a calming and positive effect on the nervous system and mood-regulating hormones.  This will create the opportunity to improve our mental and physical health.
