Beth Young | The Great Calm
Whole-Body Alignment Begins with Calm
When your nervous system feels safe, everything changes.
At The Great Calm, we guide individuals toward whole-body alignment — where physical health, emotional resilience, and spiritual steadiness begin working together instead of against each other.
Build Your Life on the Pillars of Calm
Our approach centers on the 5 Pillars of Health:
nutrition, movement, social connection, restorative sleep, and mindfulness.
Through gentle daily practices, guided teachings, and simple challenges, you’ll learn how to signal safety to your body, reconnect with your inner wisdom, and build resilience from the inside out.
This isn’t about quick fixes or rigid programs.
It’s about learning to live in a state of greater calm, awareness, and alignment — one small step at a time.
Discover The Great Calm
Step Onto the Path
The path to calm begins by slowing down and listening within.
This journey begins with simple steps designed to help you slow down, listen to your body, and build awareness from the inside out.
Each step prepares you for the next — gently guiding you toward deeper alignment.
Meet Beth Young
Beth Young is the heart behind The Great Calm and the creator of the 5 Pillars of Health framework. Her path toward teaching whole-body alignment deepened after a traumatic brain injury from a serious car accident in 2021. Through her own healing journey, Beth experienced firsthand how the body can recover and adapt when given the right environment for healing. This experience strengthened her commitment to practices that support nervous system safety, resilience, and sustainable wellbeing.
Beth brings a unique blend of life experience and wisdom to her work, including teaching Tai Chi, guiding mindfulness practices, and helping individuals reconnect with their natural capacity for healing and growth. From her early years in Arizona to raising her family in Texas and serving communities during hurricane response efforts, Beth has long been drawn to helping others navigate challenges with strength and clarity. She is also a Master Gardener, a former Dale Carnegie Team Member, and a recipient of the Houston Women in Excellence Award.
Today, Beth shares simple practices that help individuals cultivate calm, strengthen resilience, and create lives rooted in balance and purpose. Through the teachings of The Great Calm, she encourages people to reconnect with their bodies, develop awareness, and move toward greater alignment. When she’s not guiding others along this path, Beth enjoys hiking, kayaking, camping, and spending time with her family, including her five adult children and two grandchildren.
